Hi Robert. Thanks for your posts. We live in California and seriously debated over the last 8 months moving to Seattle, Portland and Boise - going to each of the areas and exploring extensively. We decided to stay put in CA - so happy to hear that we won't be making a big splash into the ocean anytime soon. We like the energy here & especially the sunshine & ocean.

Why are people getting the urge to move out of CA?

I cannot say now why a wave of people will suddenly decide to move out of California, and that the general trend to either establish a second residence or to move entirely - especially when discovering that the second residence is someplace you prefer more, will happen at this time but it will become obvious to you and others within the next few years.

This is not to say that people aren't already moving out but as you know people are also moving in, however it will be noted by those who collect such statistics to say nothing of being obvious due to other factors in the economy that people are moving out at a greater rate than they are moving in and this will be statistically available to the general public within three years.

So - it will happen and for those of you who wish to stay you may enjoy more elbow room so to speak but for those of you who leave I think you will be happier where you are going.

I know that all sounds very enigmatic but it is not my job to proclaim this and that's going to happen specifically - it would simply be better to say - do what your heart suggests is best for you and do not fall in lockstep because of what this person or that person says.
